RESIDENCE IN DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON, SC

The project is three-bedroom, three-bath, 1800 s.f. residence to be located in downtown Charleston.  The house’s forms are inspired from residences in the adjacent historic neighborhood, but reinterpreted in a progressive manner that allows for large expanses of natural light and more open and flexible interior layout. The project had an extremely limited budget on a very restricted site within a flood zone, and employs simple materials and direct proportions.
